The absolute best locations for bubble parties is in covered outdoor areas. If you have a backyard with a covered rear deck or pergola, that would be perfect. Alternatively a park with a sunsail or larger covered area. That said, these parties can be done in either open outdoor areas or larger indoor areas. If held indoors, we will provide a number of towels to absorb bubble liquid on the floor, but you may need to provide extra drop cloths. They can be held at your home (garages can make great party rooms) or a hired hall. If you need help finding a hall to hire in your area, we recommend trying Scouts Australia as your first step. You can find a link to their website on our Links page. Outdoors in an uncovered park or a back yard is also fine. However, if the wind is high on the day then the bubbles are harder to create and craft. Also as this event are can be indoor entertainment, we don't allow for free re-scheduling in the event of bad weather so its a good idea to have a back-up indoor location in case of rain.
Please keep in mind that if you choose a park location, our host will need access to water to create our bubble formula. If there is no tap or water access at the park you will need to bring 15L of water to the park for our host to use.
We can generally adapt ourselves to most locations. As a general rule, consider the group of children you are planning to invite. Then imagine them standing in a circle. If you think the space you are planning to use could allow the children to make that circle, then its big enough for a show. The more space you can give us the better.
Our host will need you to provide them with access to water and a reasonable amount of space. Otherwise we will provide everything needed for the Bubble party and show itself.
We request that you don't hand out any noise making party favours or party poppers until after the disco has finished. While our hosts are very capable, competing with a large group of kids all blowing whistles and popping streamers to be heard is a big ask for anyone.
It is a good idea to inform your host if any of the guests have special needs. These can include ADHD, autism, aspergers, down syndrom and other behavioral conditions. While our events are designed to be inclusive for all, there are times when awareness of children with these conditions can allow the host to temper their performance sightly, particularly when interacting with those children, to ensure they feel safe and included.
For our Bubble parties the limit is 16. As mentioned on the party page, if you are going to have more than 16 children at the event there are additional charges and the request for an adult to help with the craft section of the party.
We do recommend that the majority of children be aged between 5 and 8 years. If there are a few children outside those ages they are welcome to participate. It is worth keeping in mind that this event can be a little scary for children under the age of 5yrs and can be considered a bit daggy for kids over the age of 8yrs. When the majority of kids are inside the age bracket the sense of peer-group will generally overcome those obstacles for the small number of older or younger guests. When the majority of guests are older or younger, our experience is that the event won't be as successful with our format and another party format might be a better solution for your event.
